2025 Peaky Open Preview

The stage is set for one of the most anticipated events on the Peaky Tour calendar as the 2025 Peaky Open takes place this Saturday. This year’s edition returns to the picturesque yet challenging Raven’s Claw Golf Club, a venue steeped in Peaky Tour history and forever remembered as the site of Liam’s infamous hole-in-one.

Last year, JP and James stood atop the podium at Inniscrone, etching their names into Peaky Open history with clutch performances and ice-cold putting under pressure. This year, both return, but only one can claim the honor of going back-to-back.

Key Storylines to Watch

1. Can James or JP Repeat as Champion?

Winning the Peaky Open once is impressive; defending the title is legendary. Both James and JP have the pedigree to pull it off, but with different partners and an elite field, the road to victory is far from straightforward.

2. Chris Chasing the Career Grand Slam

Already a decorated Peaky Tour major champion, Chris enters the Open with a chance to complete the elusive Career Grand Slam. A win at Raven’s Claw would cement his legacy among the tour’s all-time greats.

3. The Hunt for a First Major

Three names to circle: Eric, Ciaran, and Keegan. Each has come close, but none have yet hoisted a major trophy. A breakthrough here could change the trajectory of their careers and shake up the Peaky power rankings.

2025 Peaky Open Power Rankings

1st. James and Keegan

The favorites. James is the defending champ and was smashing drives of 300+ recently. Keegan, hungry for his first major, has been grinding ever since the Creeslough Cup; this pairing could be a juggernaut.

2nd. Colin and Chris

Chris is coming off a solid singles match and chasing the career grand slam. Colin is riding high from his Peaky Masters win. If he can carry that momentum, this team is a serious threat to the crown.

3rd. Eric and Tom

Eric’s chasing his first major, and Tom, fresh off missing the Creeslough Cup, is eager to prove himself on the big stage again.

4th. JT and Ciaran

A balanced duo with the potential to upset the favorites if they catch fire early. JT made headlines with two eagles in the span of a week, the hot hand to watch.

5th. Sam and Cameron

An intriguing pairing fresh off a singles battle against each other at the Creeslough Cup. Both players enter in strong form with some impressive rounds as of late.

6th. Liam and Ruiraidh

History is on their side, especially at Raven's Claw, the site of Liam's ace, which overshadowed Ruiraidh's 76.

7th. Aidan and JP

Last year’s champ JP is paired with 2-time champ Aidan, who continues to be very streaky. If they find rhythm early, they could surprise the field.

Who's got your vote?

  • James and Keegan

  • Colin and Chris

  • Eric and Tom

  • JT and Ciaran

The 2025 Peaky Open promises drama, pressure-packed moments, and the chance for new heroes to emerge. Whether it’s history being made, redemption being found, or a first-time champion breaking through, one thing is certain: when the final putt drops at Raven’s Claw, the winner will have earned it. And may Liam's hole-in-one serve as a reminder that there is always a little magic out there, you just have to find it!

May the best pairing prevail.
